UVB light, a vital component of natural sunlight, is crucial for the health of most reptiles. It supports strong bone development and contributes to several other important bodily functions.

The Zoo Med T5 HO ReptiSun 5.0 UVB bulb, a high-output T5 fluorescent light, offers double the strength of traditional T8 ReptiSun 5.0 bulbs. This makes it ideal for providing adequate UVB levels to reptiles with lower UVB needs in spacious enclosures. Crafted in Germany, this premium bulb is trusted by zoos, veterinarians, and leading reptile experts.

Usage Guidelines:

Mount the 22" Zoo Med T5 HO ReptiSun 5.0 UVB in a 24" Zoo Med ReptiSun T5 HO Terrarium Hood and position it above the basking spot. It is most effective for low-UVB reptiles in wide terrariums approximately 48" in length.

To ensure consistent UVB output, replace the Zoo Med T5 HO ReptiSun 5.0 UVB bulb every 12 months. For optimal performance, pair it with a Zoo Med Digital UV Index Radiometer or a Solarmeter 6.5.

Reptiles have varying UVB needs. Refer to the Arcadia UV Index Lighting Guide to find the appropriate UVI for your reptile’s basking area.

Measurements are taken from the bulb’s tip to the basking area or reptile. UVI values are estimates and may decrease by 30-40% when the bulb is placed over a mesh screen.
